In December 2003, legislation was passed increasing
the existing R&D Tax Credits from $15 million
to $30 million. And more importantly, it also included
a provision that provided for the sale of these
Tax Credits. These changes will significantly impact
the applied research and development industry, and
provide much needed capital to these selling companies
in Pennsylvania.
Applications for the R&D Tax Credits are due
to the Department of Revenue by September 15, 2006
with awards expected by December 15, 2006. Companies
will then be able to apply to DCED for tradability,
after December 15, 2007 should they choose to sell
their Tax Credits.
